Granite

Granite is a strong and durable natural stone, valued for its distinctive mineral structure, rich colour variations and excellent performance in demanding applications. Formed deep within the earth as molten rock slowly cools and crystallises, granite is composed mainly of quartz, feldspar and mica, which create its characteristic granular appearance.

Granite is available in a wide range of colours, from soft greys, whites and warm beige tones to deep black, red, green and blue varieties. Depending on the stone, its appearance can be calm and finely grained or bold and highly expressive.

Thanks to its hardness, durability and resistance to wear, granite is suitable for flooring, kitchen worktops, vanity tops, staircases, wall cladding, fireplaces and other heavily used surfaces. Many granite varieties are also well suited to exterior applications, including façades, terraces, steps, paving, landscaping and public spaces.

Granite can be finished in many different ways, including polished, honed, brushed, flamed and textured surfaces. The choice of finish affects both the appearance and performance of the stone and should be selected according to the intended application.

As with all natural stone, colour, mineral structure and pattern vary between quarries and individual blocks, making each granite surface unique.
